PR Club of New England Announces New President and Return to In-Person Networking Events

Fresh Talent Across Public Relations Entities in New England Propels PR Club Into the Next Era of Professional Networking

Today, the PR Club, New England’s leading communications trade organization, announced their new president, Kaitlynn Cooney, for the 2024-2026 term. The presidential change comes amid new committee leads, membership enhancements, and a re-focused energy on bringing in-person networking and professional events back to Boston’s public relations community.

Kaitlynn Cooney, Account Director at Brodeur Partners, has been named the organization’s current president and will lead the organization through its next phase of community engagement. She brings to the club over nine years of public relations experience in Boston, focusing on nonprofit communications, consumer media, and strategic media relations.

“I’m honored to be named the new president of the PR Club,” Kaitlynn Cooney says. “The world of PR has changed drastically since the PR Club was first formed. For one, we were called the Publicity Club of New England just a few years ago. But every PR practitioner is more than a publicist nowadays. Today, we juggle many hats all at once. We are brand ambassadors, crisis communicators, strategists, creators and, yes, publicists too. I’m excited to continue to work with the many talented individuals we have on our board, our fascinating new members, and the broader communications industry in New England as we prepare for the next generation of PR.”

In addition to the presidential announcement, the PR Club is also introducing the board of directors for the season. Committee leads and advisors are responsible for planning and executing on programs and content throughout the year, providing educational resources to members across all disciplines, industries and levels in the communications industry at large:

  • Treasury:
    • Lead: Holly Bertshmann, Veolia North America
    • Advisor: Michael Dowding, Wordscape Communications
  • Programming:
    • Co-Leads: Allison Logano, Tier One Partners, and Angelica English, PAN
  • Bell Ringer Awards:
    • Lead: Lana Tkachenko, Force of Nature
  • Content:
    • Lead: Abbey Clark, PAN
  • Membership:
    • Lead: Abi Blanchard, Greenough

Board members on the club’s new membership committee will be focused on increasing membership, both individual and corporate members, and customizing and enhancing the member experience via recruitment materials and communications.

Under new leadership, PR Club’s board of directors is growing, and accepting new members, with current representation across today’s most reputable communications agencies, academic institutions and leading brands:
