Highlights from the 57th Annual Bell Ringer Awards

We recently celebrated our annual Bell Ringer Awards at the Museum of Science in Boston. This event brought together the best of the best in New England’s PR, marketing and communications industry. Hosted by Emily Schario, head of content and director of multimedia storytelling for The B-Side, a weekly Boston Globe Media newsletter, the evening was one to remember!

Honoring a Career of Achievement

Almost everyone in attendance has crossed paths with this year’s recipient of the John J. Molloy Crystal Bell Lifetime Achievement Award: Amy Shanler. The Boston University College of Communication professor and former PR Club president has more than 25 years of experience in communications activities for multiple organizations in multiple industries. For more than 10 years, she co-directed BU’s award-winning PRLab, the nation’s longest-running student-led public relations agency. This award honors the incredible role she has played in shaping the future of our industry.

Cheers for Our Rising Stars

We also celebrated individuals earlier in their career making a difference already. Erin Fennell of V2 Communications took home the Striker Award as an industry newcomer, and Julianna Sheridan, Vice President at Matter Communications, received the Ringer Award for her honorable work in the industry to date.

A New Award Enters the Chat

This was the inaugural year for the Carillonneur Professional Award, which celebrates outstanding workplace culture in PR and communications. The honor went to V2 Communications for its people-first approach to leadership, growth, and development.

The Crème de la Crème

The PR Club awards no greater honor than the Platinum Super Bell Award each year, which was presented to 360PR+ for their impressive campaign “Steering CarGurus Thought Leadership.”

Honorable mentions are deserved for Duffy and Shanley, who took home a whopping 12 awards, closely followed by RDW Group with 10. We also honored a number of new PR Club members this year, demonstrating the industry’s growth and breadth of talent. See all of this year’s winners here

Pay It Forward

We are honored to have donated $1,000 to CommonWealth Kitchen, a Dorchester-based nonprofit dedicated to building a more equitable and inclusive food economy. This organization is near and dear to our host Emily’s heart, and we were thrilled to join her in supporting this effort.
