Where do you work and what is your title?
I am an account supervisor at FleishmanHillard.
What is your Twitter handle?
Briefly summarize your background. What kind of industry/clients do you work with?
I graduated from Roger Williams University in 2013 with a degree in communications and have worked in agencies ever since. I started at Lois Paul & Partners working in B2B healthcare and technology, and then made the shift over to Matter Communications where I almost solely worked on healthcare consumer accounts like CVS. Now at FH Boston, I work on a mix of healthcare and consumer teams including Fitbit, TENA and AbbVie.
Describe what you do for PR Club.
I started out on the Programs team three years ago helping to plan events, and now I am the President-elect, so I have more of a hand in everything these days!
Name your top three favorite things about PR.
- Being able to think creatively for your clients with ideas – both big and small. And being in an agency setting, hearing about the creative ideas your colleagues are coming up with and executing on other accounts as well.
- Working through tough challenges and crisis situations – although stressful during the time, can be exhilarating and exciting to work through as a team.
- Having clients who acknowledge PR’s importance and value, seek our advice and counsel on tough topics and view us as an extension of their team.
Do you have a childhood moment when everyone knew you’d be a communications specialist?
I’ve had a lot of career goals since I was a child as a Type A/Leo/Enneagram 3 – ranging from a veterinarian to the first female President of the United States (yes, really). I also remember my father telling me throughout my childhood that I should be a lawyer because I was good at arguing. In school, I excelled in writing, so communications felt like a very natural fit for me and my strengths.
What is your top getaway destination?
My husband and I love traveling, so any destination is my favorite! We just got back from the Maldives and that is going to be tough to beat honestly – it felt like we were in another universe!
If you could take a client to any restaurant in Boston where would you go?
I’m a lover of fine dining, so probably somewhere like Atlantic Fish, Capital Grille or Abe & Louie’s. My family and I also recently tried Sorellina and we loved it there too!
Go to Dunks order?
Depends on my mood and the weather, but most often a large hot with skim and one Splenda – pretty boring, I know!
