TEDxNE PR Director
The PR Director will build awareness and excitement around the new TED debate format, while highlighting the moderator, debaters, and partners who help create this incredible audience experience. They will manage relationships with key public figures, especially online influencers, journalists, editors, and producers from local, regional, and national media outlets. They will collaborate with the debate participants and event partners to develop and pitch case studies, debater profiles, and promotional content.
They will assist the Marketing Director in developing campaign and program messaging, advising on how key messages and campaigns resonate with new media influencers and traditional media gatekeepers, clarifying audience personas, and creating a strategy to reach audiences beyond Boston while fostering a community around it.
They will work closely with the Social Media Manager to strengthen community engagement and test messaging. They will also collaborate with the Marketing Manager to support ticket sales and ongoing campaign messaging and engagement.
The PR Director will also serve as the day-to-day contact for TEDxNewEngland’s PR and strategic communications agency Brodeur Partners, Boston University PRLab, and the Boch Center’s PR firm Luca Partners.
Candidates should have a keen eye, strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to communicate visually beyond text alone.
